Community interaction
The Department’s Disease Clinic offers a diagnostic service to the industry.  In 2009, a total of 517 sick plant samples were received, analysed diagnostically and reports sent to the clients.  The Disease Clinic also presented a successful short course (fruit crops) over a period of three days, under the flag of DFPT.  The Department of Plant Pathology is continuously involved in knowledge transfer on plant health issues to the agricultural and forestry industries.  Consultations to industry and presentations at farmer’s days or training days are included.
