Call for Papers

All participants are invited to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations. Submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed for their acceptance by the Organizing Committee.
In case the organizers can not accept an oral submission (limited slots available), presenters will be invited to present their research as a poster.

Please note that your registration is required to access your abstract, but payment is not mandatory at this stage. Accepted abstracts will however only be published in the book of abstracts of the conference, after full payment of the registration fee.

You will receive an acknowledgement of your abstract submission. If you do not receive, anything, please send an email to the Conference Secretariat: aef2@sun.ac.za

Notification on acceptance of the abstract will be emailed within one month after the submission deadline.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstracts must be submitted by completing the attached Call for Papers and email together with your abstract to the Conference Secretariat: aef2@sun.ac.za.
Please note that your registration is required to submit abstracts, but payment is not mandatory at this stage. However, accepted abstracts will only be published in the book of abstracts of the conference after full payment of the registration fee.
  • Abstracts should contain material that has not been presented at other conferences. However, new aspects of the previously published or presented materials may be considered;
  • Authors who wish to submit more than one abstract should fill out a separate (Call for Papers) for each abstract;
  • All abstracts will be peer-reviewed and the final selection made by the Programme Committee;
  • All abstracts must be written in English. It is the author's responsibility to submit a correct abstract. Any erros in spelling, grammer or scientific fact will be reproduced as submitted by the author;
  • The abstract must not exceed a one-page A4 MS Word format (figures, picutres, references included)
  • Presenters will be informed of the outcome one month after submission deadline.

This word document provides an example abstract for APME2019. The name of your abstract file should be in the form "surname.doc" (i.e. BROWN.doc).

Poster Submission Guidelines

  • A poster number will be assigned to the firt author and will be listed on a display board at the registration desk;
  • Posters will be displayed in the Exhibition Area at the Conference venue;
  • Poster size is AO - nominally 90 cm wide and 120 cm high, in portrait format (no landscape);
  • Printing on canvas or cloth will also be accepted;
  • Information on the posters should include: poster title (top centre), followed by author's name, institution, corresponding e-mail, poster body with content (such as introduction, materials and methods, results (including figures and tables), discussion and conclusions, references and acknowledgements);
  • Poster presenters should stand at their posters during the designated times to give delegates the opportunity to ask questions;
  • Some double sided tape will be provided for the mounting of posters.
  • Poster presenters are responsible for setting up and removing of posters.
