Reseach interests
As principal NRF grantholder the research focuses on Ecotoxicology; the effects of environmental pollutants on the form and functioning of ecosystems; the development of soil ecotoxicity tests; cellular biomarkers and bioindicators; influence of agricultural chemicals and heavy metals on aquatic and terrestrial fauna; influence of agricultural practices on soil biological activity; food chain transfer and secondary poisoning of heavy metals. Environmental protection and sustainable use of land.
