Areas of interest
Areas of interest include conservation biology, wildlife ecology in particularly terrestrial invertebrates. For my Honours project I was looking at the methods and causes of illegal hunting (Poaching) at a local game ranch (Beafort F21), Limpopo Province.

The title of my research project is: How fast can you climb a mountain? Climate change, biotic assemblages and a centre of endemism. The project focus on the drivers of ant (Formicidae) diversity along an altitudinal transect within the context of a proposed long-term monitoring project documenting the response of biota to global climate change. The objectives of this project are to monitor ant (Formicidae) assemblage structure, phenology and quantify ant behavioural dominance along a north-south transect over a period of one year in a centre of endemism, the Soutpansberg mountains. This could provide the most cost effective and succinct picture of the response of these organism to global climate change.
