The Centre for Research on Science and Technology is a research institution of the University of Stellenbosch. The objectives of the Centre are:
· To conduct research on the nature of science and technology with specific reference to science and technology policy in South Africa and Africa;
· To conduct research on, and improve, the ‘meta-fields’ of methodology and sociology of science.

It is furthermore stated that the Centre would pursue these objectives, not only through research programmes, but also through workshops and seminars, as well as other forms of networking.
