Stellenbosch is an important tourist destination in South Africa because of its central location within the heart of the Cape Winelands. There is therefore a excellent range of accommodation places available for conference participants to stay in from cheap and cheerful backpackers to luxurious wine estates.

The University has a large number of residences within Stellenbosch, but most students elect to stay in residence over the second semester term break to study for end-of-year exams. Therefore the University residences are not available for conference participants to stay in.

Note that the Stumble Inn Backpackers in Stellenbosch is a good establishment and within relatively easy distance of the conservatorium. The distances quoted in km from the University of Stellenbosch (US) are comparable to the distance to the conservatorium which is centrally located within the university.
