First-year Academy Prestige Evening hosted by Prof Russel Botman, Rector and Vice-Chancellor, Stellenbosch University on 20 February 2008. The event was held to recognise the first-year top achievers of 2007 and the lecturer they felt contributed to their success. The first year from Education was Ms Hanlie du Toit and the lecturer she nominated was Mr Chris Liebenberg. Prof Arend Carl (Vice-Dean: Teaching) and Ms Kirstin Daniel (Chair of the Education Student Committee) also attended the evening.
