SMILES

The Sciences and Mathematics Initiative for Learners and EducatorS

SMILES is one of the new IMSTUS (Institute for Mathematics and Science Teaching US) projects and forms part of the SEEDS (Systemic Education and Extra-Mural Development and Support) project. The SEEDS project is funded by the Royal Netherlands Government and Stellenbosch University acts as fund holder for the nine service providers in the partnership. There are ten primary schools and five secondary schools involved in this initiative. In classroom support and workshops form the basis of this project aimed at educators teaching from grade 4 through to grade 12.
