Borge, Shuttle Program, Web site
|
As far as duties on the JV are concerned,
mine must be the most exciting, since I am responsible for
the Shuttle Programme, Sponsors and the Website.
The Shuttle Programme is designed to allow
all students the opportunity to see and experience many things
they otherwise would not have been able to. Field trips are
organised relating to our field of study thereby exposing
us to the living law as it operates every day. The first field
trip this year was to the Cape Town High Courts. The trip
was a roaring success and excellent feedback was received
from the students. We were shown things we would otherwise
not have seen - such as pieces of evidence from cases which
we actually study in class!
Other important and, no doubt, very interesting
places on the itinerary are Parliament and Robben Island.
By visiting Parliament we not only get to see where laws are
made but also get to meet the lawmakers. And, well, Robben
Island - that speaks for itself.
Finding sponsors makes it possible for the
JV to host an array of events throughout the year. Sponsorships
expose us to the outside world thereby making people aware
of the JV and allows for the building of strong relationships
for future reference.
The website was designed and set up in conjunction
with staff from the Law Faculty. All I had to do was submit
our request to make it funky and interactive, the rest I left
up to the experts!!
