Jimmy Reinders
Jimmy Reinders graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of the Netherlands. He started his career with the Royal Military Band in Holland. He was a founder member of the Performing Arts Orchestra in Pretoria and later appointed as co principal clarinet in the National Symphony Orchestra of the S.A.B.C. In Israel he was the solo clarinetist of the Haifa Symphony Orchestra and member of the renowned Jerusalem wind Quintet. On his return to South Africa he was appointed Principal clarinet with the Durban Symphony Orchestra, The C.T.S.O., CAPAB, and The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra.
As Solo performer he has played with all the above orchestras including The Radio Philharmonies in Jerusalem and The Israel Chamber Orchestra.
His teaching career is well documented having produced some the finest wind instrumentalist is South Africa.
Teaching positions have been with the Pretoria Technicon Potchefstroom University – The SA College of Music, UCT and presently the Konservatorium of the Stellenbosch University.
