Stefné van Dyk
Stefné van Dyk is a part time lecturer in different aspects of Music Education. Her qualifications include a HED in music (US 1977), BA Mus Ed (US 1984), and MMus (cum laude US March 2000). She gained teaching experience at primary and secondary schools in voice training, piano, recorder, music theory, class music, and directed school, community and church choirs, acted as organist, adjudicated eisteddfods and presented workshops and music-recreational courses for organizations like Grassroots Educare Trust. She has sung in various well known choirs, acted as bassoonist with the Stellenbosch University Wind Ensemble and recorder player in the Collegium Musicum Baroque Ensemble, besides appearing in cabaret musicals at art festivals as double bass player. She has been invited to speak at Parents' Associations and teacher training courses and is co-author of a publication for Foundation Phase learners. Her recent study focussed on a repertoire for use in this Phase. Stephné is responsible for the certificate programme in Caledon.
