Facilities


Endler Hall

The 556 seater Endler Hall is equipped with a Marcussen tracker-action organ with 44 stops, three manuals and pedal. The Endler Hall has excellent acoustical cha­rac­teris­tics and has been acclaimed one of the finest concert halls in the world.

Fismer Hall

The Fismer Hall is suited exceptionally for a smaller audience. The hall can seat 200 people, when filled to capacity with loose chairs. Fitted with 60 fixed chairs the hall also boasts a wooden sprung floor, suitable for movement classes.

Jannasch Lecture Hall

The Jannasch Hall is the largest lecture hall in the Konservatorium building, with 180 seats. The hall is especially suitable for multimedia presentations and meetings. The hall is equipped with compact disc player, tape deck and speaker system, as well as projection room.

Lecture Rooms

Two lecture halls able to accommodate 60 people at a time, both equipped with a sound system, television and video casette recorder.

Foyer

The foyer to the Endler hall boasts large murals by the late Larry Scully and has some marvellous views of the mountains surrounding Stellenbosch. The foyer can easily host up to 300 people.

Practise Studios

The Konservatorium building has three floors with 57 practise studios, 6 of which are equipped with pipe organs. These practise rooms have a high level of sound insulation and are designed to eliminate the production of standing sound waves when practising. All practise rooms, as well as the rest of the building, are equipped with airconditioning.

Music Library


The music library is situated within the Konservatorium building. Besides the large collections of sheet music, sound recordings and books, the library owns a rare and unique collection of music manuscripts and artefacts, some dating from the sixteenth century.

Recording Studios

The Konservatorium building hosts state-of-the-art recording studios, equipped with the latest technology in this field. The studios are capable of professional recording, editing, mixing and film audio work. For more information on the studios, click here.
