The Groove Project
the privilege to share music
Welcome!
The Groove Project started out in 2005 as an initiative by the Stellenbosch University Music Technology Department in conjunction with Paul Bothner Music and Gerhard Roux to teach computer skills, through the medium of music, to young people from disadvantaged communities in the Stellenbosch area (Jamestown, Cloetesville and Kayamandi).
We evaluated our impact after a year and realized that more young people would benefit by shifting our focus to recording existing music projects. We could offer one of the best studios in the country free of charge to community projects and at the same time use these projects to educate Music Technology students.
