FAMILY RESILIENCE IN DIFFERENT ETHNIC GROUPS
This project is managed by from the Department
of Psychology in collaboration with colleagues at the Universities of the North,
Port Elizabeth, Fort Hare and Zululand. It is funded for three years by a SANPAD
grant, and involves several masters and doctoral students.
This large-scale study investigates family life, particularly those family characteristics
that enable families to overcome a major crisis or set-back, and aims at contributing
towards a better understanding of family life in different ethnic groups in
our country. In addition, it is envisaged that the results of this study will
add to the development of community development policy and the development of
community-based invention programmes.
