Obtained the MComm in Mathematical Statistics at the University of Stellenbosch, in 1996, at the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science. Became an Associate member of the Institute of Actuaries and an Associate member of  Actuarial Society of South Africa  in 2009.

Present Research Interests

Practical Statistical solutions to actuarial problems.

• Presenter/Facilitator of the CT 9 / A401 (Business Awareness) course for the Actuarial Society of South Africa (2008 - ).
• Convene the CA 2 / A402 (Modelling) course that is presented at our University for the Actuarial Society of South Africa. This role entails liaising between the Actuarial Society of South Africa, the Faculty and Institute of Actuaries and the facilitators as well as all the details for the two days the students are on the course.

• Served on the NRF (National Research Foundation) Master review panel for Actuarial Science in 2007 and 2008.

• Served as subject mapper for subject A201:Financial Mathematics for the Actuarial Society of South Africa in 2010 during the University’s accreditation process.
