‘n Konferensie oor Violence and Human Dignity vind vanaf 18 - 19 Junie 2009 by die Fakulteit Teologie, Universiteit Stellenbosch plaas.
Die konferensie geskied na aanleiding van die samewerking tussen die Universiteit van Stellenbosch en die Protestantse Universiteit Nederland (Kampen, Leiden en Utrecht). Verskillende aspekte van hoe geweld op menswaardigheid inspeel word behandel en sprekers vanuit die Bybelwetenskappe, Kerkgeskiedenis, Sistematiese en Praktiese Teologie neem hieraan deel. Elke tema word deur ‘n hoofreferaat ingelei waarop ‘n respondent reageer en telkens sal Nederlandse en Suid-Afrikaanse kollegas die geleentheid kry om of in te lei of om op die inleiding te reageer. Dit behoort aanleiding tot ‘n lewendige debat te gee waaraan belangstellendes ook kan deelneem. . A Conference on Violence and Human Dignity will take place from 18 – 19 June 2009, in the Hofmeyr Room, Faculty of Theology, Stellenbosch University. The conference is an outcome of the co-operation between Stellenbosch University and the Protestantse Universiteit Nederland (Kampen, Leiden and Utrecht). Various aspects of the impact of violence on human dignity will be explored and speakers from the disciplines of Bibliology, Church History, Systematic and Practical Theology will be participating. Each theme is to be introduced by a main speaker and responded to, and Dutch and South African colleagues will be given the opportunity either to introduce or respond to an introduction. The anticipated lively debate should allow participation by all interested parties.
