Die Fakulteit Teologie van die Universiteit Stellenbosch se feesvieringe bereik in September ‘n hoogtepunt met die toekenning van eregrade aan vyf prominente teoloë. Ons bring graag hierdie geleentheid onder u aandag en nooi u hartlik om deel te neem:

Boekbekendstelling en Spesiale Gradeplegtigheid

Prof John de Gruchy se boek: John Calvin: Christian Humanist and Evangelical Reformer word op Woensdag 2 September om 12:15 in die Attie van Wijk Ouditorium deur Lux Verbi bekendgestel. Almal is welkom! RSVP asseblief by Mariëtte, tel 021 864 8273 of mariëtte@luxverbi-bm.co.za. ‘n Ligte middagete sal na afloop van die bekendstelling deur Lux Verbi aangebied word.

Later die middag ken die Universiteit Stellenbosch eredoktorsgrade toe aan vyf prominente teoloë: Proff Denise M Ackermann, John W de Gruchy, Bernard C Lategan, Mercy A Oduyoye en J Wentzel van Huyssteen.

Konferensiegangers en alumni van die Fakulteit word vriendelik genooi na die Spesiale Gradeplegtigheid in die Endlersaal, Konservatorium, h/v Neethling en Victoriastraat, Stellenbosch. Sitplekke moet asseblief stiptelik teen 17:30 ingeneem word.

Donderdag 3 September – Vrydag 4 September 2009:

Een van die besonderse akademiese hoogtepunte is die konferensie met die tema Theology and the Future waartydens die ontvangers van eregrade die konferensie sal toespreek oor hul spesifieke velde van kennis en belangstelling, waarna ’n paneel op elke aanbieding sal reageer. Die konferensie vind plaas in die Attie van Wijk Ouditorium, Fakulteit Teologie. Bywoning is gratis. RSVP by Helette, tel 021 808 2469 of teologiefees@sun.ac.za

Donderdag 3 September 2009:

Op Donderdag 3 September om 20:00 is daar ‘n spesiale musiekkonsert met ‘n uitvoering deur die Schola Cantorum koor onder leiding van Rudolf de Beer. Werke vir koor en orrel deur Widor, Pärt, Grové en Mozart word uitgevoer in die Endlersaal Konservatorium, h/v Neethling en Victoriastraat, Stellenbosch. Kaartjies (R80; R60) is beskikbaar by Karin Linders, tel 021 808 3255 of epos karinl@sun.ac.za

All people who are interested are invited to attend the Special Graduation Ceremony in the Endler Hall, Konservatorium, c/o Neethling en Victoria Street, Stellenbosch. Please be seated in the venue by 17:30.

 

Attendance of the conference is free and all are welcome.

The highlight of the festive year of Stellenbosch University’s Faculty of Theology will be the presentation of the honorary degrees to five prominent theologians. We would like to invite you to join in the celebrations and hope that you will be able to join us on one or more occasion:

Wednesday 2 September 2009:

Lux Verbi will launch Prof John de Gruchy’s book: John Calvin: Christian Humanist and Evangelical Reformer on Wednesday 2 September at 12:15 in the Attie van Wijk Auditorium, Faculty of Theology. All is welcome! RSVP with Mariëtte, tel 021 864 8273 or mariëtte@luxverbi-bm.co.za. A light lunch will be served.

Later that afternoon Stellenbosch University will present honorary doctorate degrees to five prominent theologians: Proff Denise M Ackermann, John W de Gruchy, Bernard C Lategan, Mercy A Oduyoye and J Wentzel van Huyssteen.

Thursday 3 September – Friday 4 September 2009:

The conference with the theme Theology and the Future will be a special academic highlight of this anniversary year. Recipients of the honorary doctorate degrees will address the conference attendees on their particular fields of expertise and interest, where after panel members will respond to each of these presentations. Thursday 3 September 2009:

The Schola Cantorum choir conducted by Rudolf de Beer will perform works for choir and organ by Widor, Pärt, Grové and Mozart in the Endler Hall, Konservatorium, c/o Neethling en Victoria Street, Stellenbosch at 20:00 on Thursday 3 September.
