Ulpia Severina, daughter of Ulpius Crinitus, was the consort of Aurelian. In AD 274 she received the title Augusta. According to numismatic evidence, Severina ruled as empress between the death of Aurelian and the election of Tacitus. Her other titles on coinage include PIA (pious) and MATER CASTRORVM ET PATRIAE (mother of the barracks, senate and country). Obv.
