Curriculum Studies and praxis in social sciences with specific reference to social studies, diversity and inclusivity of different cultures, religions and belief systems.

General Information

Research projects link with international debate on the interaction between social environments and curriculum development in social science education, human rights education and diversity and inclusivity in religious and cultural value and belief systems. The research is based on different philosophical, theoretical underpinnings and praxis and in collaboration with colleagues of other tertiary institutions, masters and doctoral students, who are working of different projects in this field of study.

Colloquia

2004
A successful seminar was presented: 6th International Seminar of the International Network of Inter-religious and Inter-cultural Education, Biennial Symposium on Religious Education in March 2004. The participants of five countries of Europe and Scandinavia discussed their research on religion and belief systems in diverse societies and post graduate and PGCE-students also attended the colloquia. Two of the delegates Prof. Cok Bakker (Utrecht) and Dr. Ina ter Avest of CHH-Leeuwaarden presented guest lecturers on: The voices of the other.
