BACHELOR OF CONSUMER SCIENCE (HOUSING)

The primary aim of this programme is to prepare you for the challenges of the housing industry, while your entrepreneurial skills are also developed.  

During this exciting programme you will gain knowledge on the following aspects: history of architecture and furniture; housing for people with special needs; interior and construction materials; design aspects; new trends in housing development; the housing policy of South Africa, as well as housing management.  

You will acquire the skills to compile a design portfolio, and to do computer assisted design projects for interior spaces. Career opportunities include that of a housing consultant in the public or private sector, interior designer or owning and managing your own business. 

This professional four year programme will give you the opportunity to enrol for a Master’s degree in Housing.
