AE antoninianus, Marcus Annius Florianus, AD 276

   

Marcus Annius Florianus was made praetorian prefect by his half-brother, Tacitus, and together they repelled a Gothic invasion. On the death of Tacitus the troops proclaimed Florian emperor, however, after only three months he too, was murdered by his troops and his rival, Probus, succeeded to the throne.
