The workshop will be held at the Protea Hotel Stellenbosch, situated in the heart of the winelands, just outside one of the most beautiful and heritage-conscious towns in Southern Africa, Stellenbosch. This hotel is flanked by two international class golf courses and a fine selection of wine farms. Stellenbosch is approximately 50 km from Cape Town and 40 km from Cape Town International Airport. The weather in Stellenbosch during April is usually mild & sunny.

• Deadline for submission of abstracts: 30 September 2005
• Notification of acceptance: 21 October 2005
• Closing date early registrations and full paper submission: 10 February 2006
• Closing date late registrations: 10 March 2006

The scientific committee invites the submission of abstracts (max. 300 words) to be considered for oral or poster presentations.

• An online abstract submission facility will be available from the 1st of June 2005.
• Abstracts can only be submitted online, no other submissions will be accepted.
• Abstracts will be printed as received so please follow the instructions.
• Email confirmation of abstracts will be sent by 21 October 2005.

A secure online registration facility with special rates for registration will be available from 21 October 2005. The registration fee includes attendance to the workshop sessions, refreshments, lunches, final program, book of abstracts the opening function and conference dinner. Completed registration forms will be acknowledged by e-mail or fax. Should you not want to make use of the special rate available for online registration, please complete the registration form and return it with the registration fee before 10 February 2006 (early registration) or not later than 13 March 2006 (late registration). Please stipulate your communication preference on the workshop registration form and remember to fax a copy of the deposit slip in case of payment by direct deposit.

The registration fee does not include accommodation, please see accommodation below.

Any cancellation received by the Secretariat will be subject to the following refund policy:

• 75% of the amount paid if written cancellation is received prior to 10 February 2006.
• No refund if written cancellation is received after 13 March 2006.

The number of workshop participants is limited. On site registration will therefore only be possible if the number of participants does not exceed the maximum after registration closes. However, we strongly recommend that participants and their accompanying persons take advantage of the convenience and the saving by registering in advance.

Block accommodation bookings have been arranged at the Protea Hotel where the workshop will be held. A deposit equal to one night’s stay is required to secure the reservation.

Most banks in Stellenbosch exchange foreign currency and traveller’s cheques. Banks are open Mondays to Fridays, generally from 09h00 to 15h00 and on Saturdays from 09h00 to 11h00.

Major credit cards (American Express, Diners Club, Mastercard, Visa) are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops.

City and town power systems are generally 220/230 volts AC.

Rental cars can be booked via the travel agent. Limited pickups from Cape Town International Airport at an extra cost will be scheduled. This schedule will be made available at a later stage.

The official language of the workshop will be English. No simultaneous translation service will be provided.

Workshop nametags must be worn by all participants at all times during the workshop and on all workshop premises. Nametags should also be worn when attending the events of the social program. Only participants or accompanying persons wearing their workshop nametags will be admitted to the scientific sessions and the social events.

Coffee, tea and lunch will be available in the foyer of the Magnifica suite.

An excursion to Stellenbosch will be organised by the workshop organisers at an extra cost. Details will be available when registration opens.
