Symposium Programme

The Scientific Programme of Botrytis2007 was structured into carefully selected sessions that would ensure a balanced portfolio of topics on basic and applied research. For each session, one or more prominent researchers were invited as keynote speakers, who will also introduce and conclude the respective session, as well as serve on the Scientific Committee. On instruction from the organisers, the keynote lectures are intended to provide a general overview of the topic and should be pitched to involve both specialists in that particular field as well as people not familiar with all the concepts and latest developments.

BOTRYTIS GENOME ANNOTATION MEETING
Break-away meeting on Thursday October 25 (11h00-15h00)

The annotation of the Botrytis cinerea genome sequence is in full swing. Symposium participants involved in the annotation process will get together for a brief jamboree-like session at Stellenbosch University. Computers will be available, providing opportunity for hands-on practice and for discussing and resolving problems that individual annotators may have encountered. By working in small teams, pitfalls and useful tricks may be uncovered, which will be helpful for the annotators in future annotation tasks.

Symposium participants who are not involved in the annotation process have an opportunity to get some understanding of the process and the various steps undertaken in genome analysis.

Registration for the annotation meeting is required in order to provide transportation and computer facilities.

ORAL AND POSTER PRESENTATIONS
Presentation will be either oral or by posters. No parallel sessions will be organised.
At least one author of each paper must register and pay their registration fee in order for their paper to be included in the Symposium Programme.

Oral presentations
Oral presentations will be restricted to 10 minutes and 5 minutes discussion per speaker will be allowed.

Poster presentations
Posters should be prepared on A0-size (83 x 118 cm) posters in portrait layout. Poster boards and necessary adhesive material will be provided.
