Bianca Farao

Bianca has been living in the beautiful town of Stellenbosch her entire life. She joined the team at the Africa Centre in 2001. As administrative assistant, Bianca’s everyday tasks include everything from student applications and registration, payments, salaries and scheduling appointments.

When working at the Africa Centre every day is different and a challenge, says Bianca. She especially enjoys communicating with the centre’s students from across the globe, as she comes into contact with many different cultures. To Bianca, the growth of the postgraduate programmes is very positive. The number of applicants grows every year and there are many enquiries. The majority of prospective students state that they have heard from the programme from friends and family who previously were students of the Africa Centre. Bianca believes this is an indication that people are talking about the work of the centre and that they truly have an impact on managing HIV and AIDS globally, thereby giving hope to people living with the disease.
