Prof André Roux

André Roux is the director of the Institute for Future Research at Stellenbosch University. Prior to that he was an economist at the insurance company Old Mutual, a lecturer and head of department in the South African National Defence Force and its predecessor, the South African Defence Force, as well as a junior lecturer at Stellenbosch University. Roux's areas of expertise are business economics and labour economics, and his research focuses on globalisation and socio-economic development in Africa. He is a member of the management committee of the Bureau for Ecoonomic Research and holds a BCom, Hons BCom in economics, an MCom in economics and a PhD, all from Stellenbosch University.
