Built in 1713, Coopmanhuijs was one of the first grand residences in the heart of historic Stellenbosch, and is now surrounded by the town's many stylish shops, galleries, museums and oak trees.

The beautifully restored Manor House has yellow wood and stink wood doors, sash windows and yellow wood ceilings. The room in the Manor House as well as the newly built rooms overlook a heated pool and an intimate courtyard.

Guests can enjoy meals from the Provençal kitchen and dine at leisure with a glass of fine Cape wine in the courtyard or in the cosy restaurant.

In the spectacular dining room the menu is designed to reflect the organic bounty of the Boland and has its origin deep inside South Africa's cultural roots. We offer a cuisine of simple but refined dishes, where good unpretentious food and special wine add to the pleasures of life.

Meals and snacks are also served in the courtyard with its umbrellas, French arbour and view of the pool. Here tranquility reigns.

In order to preserve the dignity and charm of a bygone era, the decor is elegant. This is achieved, yet there is an underlying comtemporary feel together with emphasis on the organic and the real. The interplay of colours and textures provokes a tangible sense of comfort, course hand-woven silk, jute, linen, cotton and vibrant coloured velvets. The bedrooms with their soothing colours have been furnished with fine Egyptian cotton bed linen. Three of the 14 bedrooms have their own small lounges and all bedrooms are en-suite.
