Ronald Sanderson Honours Bursary in Polymer Science

The founder of the Institute for Polymer Science at the University of Stellenbosch, Prof Ron Sanderson, passed away in August 2015.  Ron could be regarded as the father of Polymer Science education in South Africa, having established the degree BSc Honours (Polymer Science) at Stellenbosch University in 1981.  (There was a tribute to Ron published in SA Plastics, Composites and Rubber, Volume 13(5), 2015, p 52.)

To commemorate the first quarter century of this degree offering, the Division of Polymer Science at the Department of Chemistry and Polymer Science has established a bursary fund in the name of the late Prof Ron Sanderson.  The aim of the fund is to create a sustainable source of financial support for students registered for the BSc Honours (Polymer Science) degree at Stellenbosch University.

The bursaries will be awarded to students that are (a) academically outstanding and/or (b) financially challenged.
