We depart from the Algoa Bay Yacht Club in the Port Elizabeth Harbour and start off the tour with a harbour cruise and full safety briefing after which we exit the port and set a course for the islands.

During the boat ride you have the chance of spotting Bottlenose dolphins, which are common through the year and seen in schools of between 50 and 400. Other dolphins sometimes spotted are common and humpback dolphins as well as seasonal Southern Right and Humpback Whales.

Both catamaran have a specially designed viewing platform which allows the guide to have the best possible view of the bay and thus chance to see any animals that may be present.

Light refreshments and snacks are served during the cruise and there is an option of having lunch afterwards at the yacht club.

Other dolphins sometimes spotted are common and humpback dolphins, Gannets, Cape cormorants, white-breasted cormorants and various species of pelagic birds as well as seasonal great Wales may be seen on the 25km trip to the island.

Pick up at conference venue where after we depart to a view point where we give a historical overview to the establishment of the second oldest city in South Africa, Port Elizabeth and Algoa Bay on whose shores this city was established.

From pre-history to present, we follow the history of the first inhabitants, the Bushmen, the Khoikhoi, and the early European mariners and explorers, the AmaXhosa and the Boers to the arrival of the British 1820 settlers and the development of Port Elizabeth.

We proceed on a tour of the historical central area with its wealth of colonial and post-colonial architecture. Places of interest and historical significance include Fort Frederick, the first colonial building, the Donkin reserve and the Central Business district. Military installations and Monuments, Sports fields, Antique and Art galleries, Cathedrals and Hotels, that form the matrix binding the web of early society that contributed to the establishment of the modern city of Port Elizabeth as we know it today.

After the pick up we board the boat for an awe-inspiring marine safari into the protected water of Port Elizabeth's Algoa Bay searching for Dolphins, Seals, Sharks and the seasonal Humpback and Southern Right Whales. Under expert guidance we circumnavigate St Croix Island for close up view of the largest breeding colony of 20 000 African Penguin in the world.

We return to the harbour for a satisfying light lunch at the Yacht Club, where the seting is wonderful and the food is great. After lunch we board the tour vehicle and depart for the Addo Elephant National Park for exciting game drives, scanning the thickets for the more traditional members of the big five.

After entering we check in and immediately start our game viewing experience searching for the many and diverse creatures in the thickets and on the open plains while learning about the habitat in which they live.

The park is home to the more than 600 free roaming Elephants and a wide variety of wildlife such as Zebra, Warthog, Ostrich, the elegant Kudu and many more including the traditional BIG 5, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Rhino and of course the Elephants.

We head to the south exit in the late afternoon, game viewing all along the way in this world class facility before return to the Port Elizabeth.

However, if the weather is too bad or if there are not enough people booked for the boat ride we automatically convert the tour into a full day safari to Addo Elephant National Park at the standard rate.

Making our way through the park from south to north we stop for alight lunch at the parks restaurant before once again returning to the south, game viewing all along the way int his world class facility before return to Port Elizabeth.

Reaching main camp we stop for a light lunch at the parks restaurant before departing for the near Zuurberg mountain range north of the park where we climb the historic Zuurberg mountain pass with its spectacular views over the lowlands before we descend into the valley to meet the three large but gentle Elephant bulls we will ride for a once in a lifetime experience through the thickets, viewing the other species on the reserve from the backs of these incredible creatures.

After riding these gentle giants there is a chance to interact while you feed the bulls, after which they get a chance to swim and mud bath at the waterhole.

Return to the conference venue after a full day of excitement.

Please note: it is essential to wear long pants or jeans, as the elephants have short stiff hair that irritate out tender skin.

On arriving at the main camp we enjoy a light lunch at the parks restaurant. In the afternoon we continue the game drive searching the thickets for Elephant, Eland, Red Hartebeest as well as the stately Kudu, the males with their huge horns blending into the background.

We leave the reserve to meet the ferry on the Sundays River, an estuary on the border of the Addo Elephant National Park where we board a ferry for a leisurely cruise on this wide calm waterway searching the reed banks for a wide diversity of birdlife and some of the smaller creatures to be found here. This is a bird watchers paradise. We continue to the coast where we view the beautiful wind driven sand dunes that make up a part of the largest dune field in the Southern Hemisphere.

We may stop and climb the shifting sand dunes for a stunning view over the waters of Algoa Bay, St Croix Island with the largest colony of African penguins in the distance, and the possibility of sighting Whales that seasonally visit this large protected bay. Soon after sunset, when the shadows have merged into dusk, we depart back to Port Elizabeth well satisfied, recounting the experiences of the day.

A full day tour and stunning scenery on the famous Garden Route with two World class facilities to keep you and your family enthralled: Birds of Eden and Monkeyland.

Early pick up at the Conference venue in Port Elizabeth, the start of the Garden Route. We pass the coastal towns of Jeffreys Bay and Cape St Francis with our first stop being at the Storms river bridge. Here we freshen up and get a bite of breakfast. Walk on the awesome arch bridge spanning the narrow but deep Storms River.

Continuing on the Garden route we stop to view the Big Tree, an 800-year-old Yellowwood tree in this temperate forest before heading to the Tsitsikamma National Park for a brief photographic visit at this picturesque setting. After this we continue to the Crags where we stop at the first of our interactive destinations.

Monkeyland is a natural forest in which monkeys from around the world are confined; many have been rescued from terrible conditions to be re-habilitated in this natural environment. These monkeys will entertain you like never before. We take a break for lunch either at Birds of Eden or at one of the neighbouring restaurants (for own account).

Walking from here we enter the huge flight dome, enclosing an entire valley complete with its own stream and forest trees. Birds of all species, shapes, sizes and colours from around the world occupying different ecological zones, are on display under natural conditions, offering fantastic photo opportunities.

In the afternoon we depart for Port Elizabeth and if possible we return via Natures valley for a short walk and a swim (optional) at this stunning valley and beach. Bring costumes.

Early pick up at the Conference venue and depart via the coastline to Storms River Bridge where we freshen up and get a bite of breakfast. Walk on the awesome arch bridge spanning the narrow but deep Storms River (2 h drive from Port Elizabeth).

Continuing on the Garden route we stop to view the Big Tree, an 800-year-old Yellowwood tree in this temperate forest before continuing to the Tsitsikamma National Park (means the sound of water) for a brief photographic visit at this picturesque setting.

During the Canopy Tour you glide on slides between platforms through the Afro-montane forest between platforms as high as 30 meters above the forest floor. Some 2 1/2 hours later, after an adventurous experience you exit the forest, having undertaken a journey providing an insight into this enchanting world previously only inhabited by the Birds, Bees, Baboons and Butterflies.

After a well-deserved lunch we depart for Bloukrans pass Bridge with its 216 meter high Bungee jump, the highest in the world (optional extra). Face your fear and jump - a countdown on the arch and off you go. This is the ultimate thrill!! Should you wish to allow the more adventurous to entertain you, sit back and enjoy the excitement from the nearby lookout.

After the adrenalin rush we head for the Elephant sanctuary and an unforgettable interaction with African Elephants, walk hand in trunk with them, or ride upon their backs (optional extra) and find out just how gentle these intelligent giants really are.

We depart back to Port Elizabeth after an eventful day.
