has been reserved in Huis Neethling, Waldenhof, Crozierhof and Banghoek
Place, all within easy walking distance from the Wallenberg Research Centre
at STIAS, i.e. the venue of the school. Since reserved accommodation is
limited to 48 places (two per room), accommodation is made available on a
first-come-first-served basis. The cost for the above accommodation is
quoted per person sharing and is as follows:

Subsidy

Subsidy for South African students |
A limited number of student subsidies are
available for South African students in financial need. All
students are required to pay the full registration fee. In
addition, a subsidy of 50% on Accommodation and School Costs will be awarded to students based
on academic merit and financial need. The total number of
subsidies will depend on available funds. No support is available
for travel costs. Students are responsible for their own
travel arrangements. |
Those students wishing to be
considered for financial support must: |

Ask their supervisor to
send an e-mail letter before 15 October 2008 to
physoffice@sun.ac.za
with the following information:
- Subject heading: Application for Subsidy – Name of student
- Attest to the student’s academic standing and motivate the

participation in the School.
- State what additional funds have been sourced and why the entire
cost
of the School cannot be covered by the supervisor and/or
institution.

African Delegates |
A very limited number of scholarships are available for African
students and academics from outside South Africa. The

Lecturers:
Transport between Cape Town
International airport and the school venue will be organized for all
lecturers at the
beginning and end of the school.
Participants:
A shuttle transport service between Cape Town
International airport and the school venue will be available for participants at the
beginning and end of the school. Please provide us with your travel choice
on the second part of the registration page. The travel arrangement
field will be available when you logon after the initial registration
process.
Participants who would like to make use of this transport are expected to
arrive in Cape Town on 18 January 2009 and depart on 28 January
2009.

We have been able to keep the costs at, or even below,
the levels of
the Summer Schools in previous years.
For students the total costs consist of the registration fee, the conference fee
and the
accommodation fee. Student accommodation will be available in Huis
Neethling, Waldenhof, Crozierhof and Banghoek Place (Guest House).
